FAQ

After ordering my turkey, when can I expect it?
Generally turkeys are shipped to the customer after 2-3 business days. All shipments are done Monday - Wednesday.

When Should I Order for the Holidays?
ASAP, although we ship as close to the holidays as possible. We do sell out and we are effected by weather and shipping delays just as every other shipper is this time of year. Our product will hold in your freezer until the big day, so avoid the last minute rush if possible.

What do I do with my turkey when it arrives?
Upon receipt, immediately remove from the insulated shipping box and store in freezer until 3 days before serving. Thaw in the refridgerator 3 days before heating.

When I'm ready to cook my turkey, how long will it take?
Let the turkey thaw for at least 72 hours in the refrigerator, then it's ready to cook.  Put it in the oven for one hour.  Also, see the 'Heating' link above.

How much do your turkeys weigh?
This year, our turkeys range between 10-12 pounds pre-cook weight.  Think of it as the size of a turkey you would purchase at the store for cooking yourself.  After they have been cooked the turkeys weigh between 9-11 pounds.

How many people does one turkey feed?
Generally, our turkeys feed between 8-10 people, depending on portion size.

Do you cook using peanut oil?
Yes, we use peanut oil to fry our turkeys. Do not consume if you have a nut allergy.

Is there a quicker way to thaw the turkey than 72 hours in the refrigerator?
Yes, the USDA offers advice on thawing using a Cold Water Method which takes around 6 to 8 hours.  See this link.
